What is the most significant impact Dalton State has had on your life (personal, academic and/or career)?
The most significant impact Dalton State College has had on me is the impact made by my peers, professors and staff, who constantly push me to do my best in everything I do. Whether it is with an organization on campus or my academics, it goes to shows much the faculty and staff care about your success while attending Dalton State College.
What impact have you made or hope to make on Dalton State during your academic journey?
During my time at Dalton State, if I could make an impact on just one person, it would be by giving them a friend when they need it or just by being there to help at any time.
What is your most reliable study tip?
Time management is my go-to for a reliable study tip. I use a planner, which I color coordinate and write the days of my classes on, as well as map out my week. I write out on Sunday what I need to focus on for the week and what days I will focus on specific assignments, which has helped me significantly improve my grades and to remember everything!
Where is your favorite study spot?
I am the type of person who thrives in chaos, so everyone thinks I am crazy when I say my favorite study spot is in the lower Pope Student Center. It is the best place with all sorts of things happening at once, whether people are studying, hanging out or playing games. For some odd reason, this helps me complete all my work in the midst of all the chaos around me!
Who is/was your favorite professor?
Professor Patrick Ryle is one of my all-time favorite professors and a person you can always count on. No matter if you are in his class currently, were in a class of his in the past or haven’t taken him at all, he is there for you like no other! He has made an impact on many students here at Dalton State, especially me. My favorite thing about Professor Ryle is when in the hallway, if you walk by, he’ll say, “You are doing great. I am proud of you.” Just walking by on a bad day and hearing that is encouraging.
As a Roadrunner, what does it mean to Run Boldly?
As a Roadrunner, to Run Boldly means to put forth your best effort in everything you do at Dalton State and outside of Dalton State. Always believe in yourself and your success, and never stop chasing your dreams and the future you want for yourself! No matter what, you must always keep your head up and try again until you achieve the goal you have for yourself!
