President’s Message
Dalton State College recognizes that an ethical, efficient and effective work environment is essential to our continuing to successfully accomplish our mission. As a result, we have always placed a high priority on assuring that each member of our campus community has the opportunity and means to convey any matter that could compromise that environment.
Reporting through your supervisory chain frequently produces the most thorough and timely resolution of a matter and is encouraged. However, other reporting avenues, such as the Campus Police and Human Resources have been and continue to be readily available.
The Ethics Line has been in use since 2008 and has been an important part of our commitment to maintain an ethical culture and reinforce the USG Core Values of Integrity, Excellence, Accountability and Respect. The Ethics Line has been particularly useful in identifying instances of fraud, waste, and abuse. This is vitally important as being good stewards of the resources entrusted to us is a non-negotiable requirement of maintaining the public’s trust.

How to Make a Report
Reports can be made online at Ethics and Compliance Reporting Hotline or by calling 877-516-3426. To facilitate a thorough investigation, please provide as much information about your concern as possible.
What should be reported
You should report violations of USG policies, state or federal laws, violations of ethical and professional standards of conduct and fraud, waste or abuse. Examples of what should be reported include but are not limited to: USG Ethics Policy violations, discrimination, harassment, research misconduct, theft, forgery, academic misconduct and privacy violations.
Your input is essential to ensure that your school maintains a positive, productive workplace. This is your system and we encourage you to use it – together we will achieve excellence.

Do not use the Ethics Reporting Hotline to report events presenting an immediate threat to life or property. The hotline webpage is hosted by a third-party vendor on behalf of the University System of Georgia’s Office of Ethics and Compliance. Reports submitted through this service may not receive an immediate response. If you require emergency assistance, please contact your local authorities.
