Why did you choose Dalton State? I chose Dalton State because it had such an emphasis on the sciences and has a reputation for allowing the students to get involved in the classroom.

What do you plan to do after graduation? I plan on going to graduate school to start working toward a Ph.D. in ecology.

Who is/was your favorite professor and why? I would have to say it’s a tie between Dr. April Kay, and Dr. John Lugthart. They express so much energy and enthusiasm towards their work and their students.

What activities are you involved in on campus? I am the president on the Environmental Club. I work to encourage people to get out into nature by leading trail hikes, setting up Earth Day festivities, and also by working with other student organizations to set up large scale events such as the Dalton State Student Research Conference.

What are some of your biggest achievements or accomplishments at Dalton State? I have set up partnerships with the city of Dalton to help with some of their clean ups and environmental education.

Where is your favorite study spot? I love to study back at my apartment where it is quiet and I have no distractions.

What is the last book you read? My U.S. Government textbook.

Favorite comfort food? I love cookies and milk. They are the best and that is my bias.

If you won the lottery, what would you do? I would try to figure out a way to make an income without having to work. That way I could do research without having to worry about finances.

What is a skill you’d like to learn and why? I would like to learn a new language. There is so much in this world that is lost due to language barriers so I would like to truly understand what people say.

What cheers you up? When I am feeling depressed I usually start watching Netflix or YouTube videos.

What is your favorite childhood memory? My favorite childhood memory was going to the Tennessee Aquarium.

Where is your favorite place to eat? Just take me any place that has sushi and I’m good.

What did you want to be when you were a kid? I actually wanted to be a veterinarian.
