Why did you choose Dalton State? I chose to attend Dalton State because it was an affordable school that was close to home. The school schedule also allowed me to be a student and a mother.

What do you plan to do after graduation? After graduation I hope to find a job as a teacher at an elementary school, and preferably teach fourth or fifth grade. I then hope to become teacher of the year and make a difference on a national level for education.

What activities are you involved in on campus? The founder and president of Teach Club, and an active member of Kappa Delta Pi.

What are some of your biggest achievements or accomplishments at Dalton State? Starting an education club, mentoring new education students, and being on the Dean’s List and being a part of the Education Honor Society.

What did you want to be when you were a kid? When I was a child I wanted to be someone who helped others. I really enjoyed playing school.

What does it mean to you to be part of the Roadrunner Nation? To me it means opportunity. Dalton State has given me the opportunity to come to school and be a student as well as a worker and a mother. It has given me the opportunity to make myself better and to help make life better for my family. It also gives me the opportunity to be an example for my daughter that she can do whatever she wants if she applies herself to the work.
