Why did you choose Dalton State? Dalton State was always at the top of my plan. It was financially a smart move, and it was the first step to following my dream. I believed Dalton State was my key to the rest of my life…and I was right.
What does it mean to you to be part of the Roadrunner Nation? It means family. It means making life-long friends and cherishing the little things everyone around you has to offer. It means 8 a.m. classes that make you rethink the amount of sleep you got last night. Most importantly it’s knowing you’re not alone because someone is probably going through the exact same thing.
What do you plan to do after graduation? After graduation, I plan to work for a lead software development company like Google or Apple and ultimately have to the opportunity to create my very own app.
Who is/was your favorite professor and why? Hands down it has to be Dr. Emma Cooley. If I sat here and told you she was an easy professor for me, I would be lying. She is very understanding with all her students and wants to see them succeed. She will always offer a hand to her students if they need help but will also allow them to make their own mistakes. Thank you, Dr. Cooley, for reminding me that I want to be an engineer because it’s what I love, not because it’s easy!
What are some of your biggest achievements or accomplishments at Dalton State? I had the privilege to attend multiple leadership conferences during my time here, but for me my biggest accomplishment was joining the Dalton State Orientation team. It made me realize this school was not just school anymore. It was home.
Where is your favorite study spot? The library! It’s still to this day the only place I can actually get things done. Now that I think about it, I probably should’ve gone there to type this out!
Where is your favorite hangout? My favorite spot has to be the orientation work room. If I’m anywhere on campus, it’s probably there. It’s the best place to take some mean naps, like out cold naps. Not much studying goes on in there for me, but it is where I wrote this so... I do get some stuff done there… sometimes.
What is your best memory so far as part of the Roadrunner Nation? I can think of a handful of memories, but the one that sticks out to me is attending SROW. It’s a magical place that really can’t be described... it’s kind of like Narnia… but for orientation leaders. It has shaped and molded me into the leader I am today.
Favorite comfort food? Carne Asada!

What do you feel most proud of? I am a first-generation college student!
If you won the lottery, what would you do? I would love to travel the world!
What is a skill you’d like to learn and why? I would love to be able to play the piano.

As a Roadrunner, what does it mean to Run Boldly? For me it means the beginning! The beginning of failure and the struggle to achieve something that means more than just getting a degree. It means to get knocked down and finding the strength to never quit. It means that not everything will go according to plan. It means you will be told you can’t, but that should never stop you. Most importantly, it means to look back one day and say “I did It!”
