Advance Placement (AP) Cut Scores
- AP Test exclusions
All 34 tests are addressed in the Dalton State policy
- If Dalton State does not offer courses covered by a particular AP test:
A. In some cases, no credit is offered where Dalton State has no equivalent course.
B. In the case of Foreign Language, if Dalton State does not offer the course, Foreign Language credit may be given if required for the student's program of study. The number of credits and courses awarded is based on the score achieved on the AP test.
- AP policy review:
Dalton State has long followed UGA guidelines. In response to the Senior Vice Chancellor's request for Dalton State input into the ASystem Review of Advanced Placement Credit,@ DSC has created its own policy for AP credit award, based on UGA guidelines. When new tests are created or old tests eliminated, Dalton State will revise its policy for the appropriate test, as needed.
- Re-evaluation of AP credit:
A. If the student has completed the appropriate area of the core, the area shall be considered complete, without further evaluation.
B. If the student has not completed the appropriate area of the core, re-evaluation shall be conducted and be based on the Dalton State system of AP credit awards.
Note: NC - No Credit
