Exam Description

The ACT Residual Exam is a three and one-half hours, standardized exam. It measures English, mathematical, reading, and science skills that students have developed and needed to be academically successful.  DSC requires that all students entering into a transfer degree program that have been out of high school less than 5 years have ACT scores.

Who is this exam for?

The on-campus Residual Test  (ACT) is the ACT which is administered at Dalton State College for on-campus administration on dates set by the college. If you plan to apply to any other institution, you must take the National ACT. Unlike the National ACT, the R-ACT is used solely for acceptance to DSC. This score may not be accepted by another institution for admission. This test may only be taken once every 60 days and a total of 12 times.

There are no security measures for this exam.

Where do I pay the fees?

Please note: Payment for the exam should be made before you come to take the exam in the Testing Center. Payments can be made when you schedule your testing appointment online or they can be made in the Business Office.  Please contact the Business Office at 706-272-4435 if you need additional payment information. The $65 R-ACT fee is nonrefundable. You will be required to show your receipt of payment in order to take the exam. Please arrive at least 30 minutes early to complete documentation for the exam.
