“A Gift Our Graduates Can Cherish”

Category: Uncategorized

Spring 2022 graduate candidates had the opportunity to have professional graduate portraits taken on the campus quad recently.

The free event was hosted and sponsored by Career and Professional Development (CPD) and Society ’63. Photographs were taken by Chad Bierkamp of Bierkamp Photography.

The idea for the event came in response to seeing students in their  regalia having graduate portraits made at the bell tower each semester, Mallory Safley, assistant director of career and professional development, said.

“The question came, what if we provided a photographer to come out  for a day and take any graduate’s portrait(s) at no cost to them as a way to celebrate their accomplishments,” Safley said. “This is a gift our graduates can cherish for a lifetime and an opportunity for them to learn about Society ’63, our alumni association, and what alumni benefits are available from both CPD and Society ’63.”

CPD and Society ’63 plan to host the event again for fall 2022 graduate candidates on Tuesday, November 21.

The Spring 2022 Commencement Ceremony is Saturday, May 21.
