Dalton State hosted our first Fresh Check Day last week. The event was to help raise awareness of mental health and provide resources for students to relieve stress. Here are some highlights from Fresh Check Day:
1. Car Smash
We brought back the car smash tradition from our early days as Dalton Junior College. Students took turns smashing the bell out of a junk car to let loose.
2. Grow Where You’re Planted
Students chose their own plants to grow from a variety of options at Delight Ministries’ table. Not only does nurturing a plant keep the mind at ease, but also can be a fun hobby.
3. DIY Bracelets
The Campus Activities Board (CAB) welcomed Roadrunners to their table to make DIY bracelets. The table was set up with an assortment of supplies for students to personalize their own bracelets.
4. AKL’s Alcohol Awareness
AKL partnered with public safety for an alcohol awareness table. Students wore goggles to simulate being under the influence of alcohol and tried to walk a straight line.
5. Inflatables
What could be more fun than an inflatable? The inflatables helped students relieve stress in-between classes.
If you missed out on the fun, don’t worry! You’ll have an opportunity to participate in another Fresh Check Day in the spring
