Research tells us that kindness and gratitude can increase happiness, reduce stress and give us a more positive outlook on our own circumstances.
Students in Dr. Kim Hays’ perspectives course focused on mental health and wellbeing put this research into practice throughout campus this week in a campaign they tagged #ThrowKindnessDSC.
Students spent time in class writing colorful, positive notes filled with encouraging words, quotes and affirmations and then spread these throughout Roberts Library, Sequoya Hall, Peeples Hall and the Pope Student Center.
While these acts of kindness and love may have just been small notes or chalk on a sidewalk, the class hopes they left a little kindness in their wake and others are encouraged to throw their own kindness at Dalton State.
You can join the movement and throw your own kindness wherever you are!
