JENNY GUY, LPC-MHSP

Jenny obtained a Bachelor’s of Arts as well as a Master’s of Science in Mental Health Counseling from Lee University in Cleveland, Tennessee. While obtaining her degree, she participated in preliminary research and education in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TFCBT) with an emphasis on determining the importance of utilizing one’s personal and individual spirituality in treatment.

Most recently, Jenny served as the Director of Outpatient Services for Focus Treatment Centers in Chattanooga, Tennessee where she has worked with individuals, families and groups struggling with substance use and eating disorders for the past seven years. Jenny uses interpersonal and values based approaches to encourage and invite students to identify and utilize their inner strength. 

Jenny works full time as a Licensed Professional Counselor, her focus is to foster hope in the face of adversity when working with students as they navigate the many stages of their personal and educational life. She works to develop a genuine collaboration and sees herself as an ally in the counseling relationship, coming alongside patients to support the development of their personal values and beliefs that will foster growth and healing.

Jenny enjoys spending time with her family and pets, participating in any activity that will take her outdoors and practicing self-sustainable living.


Dr. Claire Davis, PhD, LMFT

Claire earned her Doctorate in Mind-Body Medicine -with an Integrative Mental Health specialization- from Saybrook University, her Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from Lee University, and her bachelor’s in psychology from King University. For her dissertation research, she developed and tested an online training program teaching young adults self-compassion skills to improve body image.

Claire joins Dalton State after working in private practice for 8 years, specializing in stress management, anxiety, body image, relationship issues, identity formation, and LGBTQIA+ populations. She takes a collaborative, holistic approach to therapy and utilizes mindfulness-based practices guided by the student’s personal values and fostering self-compassion skills. She is trained in Acceptance Commitment Therapy and enjoys implementing art-based and nature-based therapy practices when appropriate. She has been a certified yoga teacher since 2020 and loves teaching trauma-informed yoga classes and Mindful Movement classes for mental health.

In her free time, Claire enjoys knitting and crocheting, reading, being in nature, spending time with her friends and family, and dabbling in various artistic pursuits.
