AAMI Fireside Chat Speakers

We are hosting a Fireside Chat at 6:00 pm in Brown 205, and I hope you will attend. Our panelists include a Special Agent from the FBI, the Vice President for Information Technology at Shaw Industries, and a Senior Process Engineer from Shaw Industries. Students will have an opportunity to hear from the panelists about their career paths as well as ask questions. This should be a valuable networking opportunity for students.Panelists: Torrance Ford is Vice President of Information Technology at Shaw Industries. In this new role, he is responsible for Human Resources Technology and leading the technology project management office. Before this, he served as the Vice President of Talent Management where he was responsible for leading five key areas of human resources: talent acquisition, learning & development, talent enablement, diversity & inclusion, and people analytics. Torrance received his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Alabama.        Special Agent Roy Njeri is with the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) Atlanta office, where he works National Security Matters. He was Born and raised in East Africa, Nairobi Kenya and came to the U.S for College. He earned his bachelor’s degree in public policy and administration. Before joining the FBI, SA Njeri was a police officer in St. Louis County where he served as a Narcotics Detective, Undercover, and was a U.S Marshall Task Force Officer. Andrew Thomas II is a dedicated problem solver with a zealous passion for innovation and relationship-building within the engineering sector. As a Sr. Process Engineer at Shaw Industries and a steadfast promoter of diversity and inclusion, Andrew utilizes his expertise to help develop new products and drive meaningful change within the organization. Notably, he holds a patent that is currently in use with the US Military and has also attained his Master’s of Business Administration (MBA). Beyond his technical acumen, Andrew’s entrepreneurial side shines bright through his management of several successful real estate ventures. During his free time, Andrew enjoys reading, providing financial consulting services, and traveling with his wife, Tolu.
