Why did you choose Dalton State? I chose Dalton State because I was sponsored by several local Rotary Clubs, and the College provided me the opportunity to get higher education that I would have never been able to have.
What do you plan to do after graduation? I plan to find a job as a recruiter or in social media marketing in the U.S., and hopefully help my brother come to Dalton State as well.
Who is/was your favorite professor and why? I have a bunch of favorites, but if I would have to choose, it would be Dr. Matt Hipps.
What activities are you involved in on campus? I am involved in the Student Government Association, Rotaract Club of Dalton, African Student Association, Astronomical Society of DSC, American Marketing Association, Student Ambassador Program, and the Peer Mentor Program.
What are some of your biggest achievements or accomplishments at Dalton State? I think one of my biggest accomplishments is starting the Rotaract Club at Dalton State, which is an international service organization. Also being on the Student Government board and the Student Ambassador program is a great honor because I get to meet and help other students.
What are some of your favorite activities in and around Dalton? I love going to any of our Dalton State athletic games!
Where is your favorite study spot? My dorm
Where is your favorite hangout? Pope Center
What is your best memory so far as part of the Roadrunner Nation? The best memory I have at Dalton State is driving with four other students to Kansas City to watch our basketball team win the National Championship. There is nothing like seeing everything in person, and watching our school cheer for success together, and making it back in time for classes.
Favorite comfort food? Chocolate chip cookies, fries, chili pan mee, naan, and roti canai, and chocolate brownies. I love anyone who brings me food!
What is your guilty pleasure? Sitting down and drawing for hours and hours. Or singing on stage.
What do you feel most proud of? Being my parents’ child.
If you won the lottery, what would you do? Invest in stocks, pay off my parents’ debts, and pay for a round trip to any destination my parents wish to go.
What is a skill you’d like to learn and why? I want to learn how to fly a plane, how to ballroom dance, how to horseback ride, and cook fancy food.
What cheers you up? Hanging out with my favorite people, talking to my parents, cooking, or eating my favorite food.
What is your favorite childhood memory? I got time out of class in kindergarten in Malaysia because the principal wanted me to draw on a huge piece of paper which she eventually framed. Best. Day. Ever.
Where is your favorite place to eat? I love all sushi restaurants, and I love The Vortex in Atlanta.
What did you want to be when you were a kid? I wanted to be a singer, teacher, cashier, pilot, and horseback rider.
What does it mean to you to be part of the Roadrunner Nation? Being a part of the Roadrunner Nation means diving into the opportunities given to you as a student, and becoming a strong and powerful addition to the workforce in the future. It means building a network, making friendships that last, and growing with people who are not just fellow students, but family. It means finding who you want to be, and moving forward to achieve it in a supportive school that strives to succeed, because we are Roadrunner Nation. Once a Roadrunner, always a Roadrunner!
