Dalton State Hosts Second Fresh Check Day for Students
Dalton State is bringing back a tradition from its early days as Dalton Junior College – the car smash. Students painted a junk car then smashed it with a sledge hammer to help relieve stress during finals week. Next week, the car smash will make a return to campus during a mental health initiative called Fresh Check Day.
‘The Story of Someday:’ English Major Shares Study Abroad Experience
Like some who have lived in a small town I have often found myself repeating some variation of the phrase: “Someday I’m going to get out of here and go somewhere.” And for most of my life, that was as far as I’d ever gotten. I had been to New York and Boston, but those were family trips with people I knew and recognized, and I was never fully out of my comfort zone. There is a big difference between going places with family and going places by yourself. It’s a confidence thing.

Career and Professional Development’s Career Week began today with two engaging events: Professional Resume Workshop and STARbucks & the Interview. Both events were well attended by Dalton State students eager to learn about career readiness.
