Synovus Gift Supports Wright School of Business Students

Posted on

Synovus Bank recently contributed a gift in support of the Wright School of Business at Dalton State. The gift will be used for school initiatives such as student research, faculty development and software acquisition.

Synovus and its predecessors have been long-time supporters of Dalton State. This gift is the latest in a history of philanthropic support by the bank and will provide necessary resources to help ensure the continued success of students.

Barry Blevins, a Synovus market president and a graduate of the Dalton State Class of 2003, was recently on campus to present the gift to Dr. Marilyn Helms, dean of the Wright School of Business, and David Elrod, director of the Dalton State Foundation.

“We are honored by Synovus and its predecessors’ long history of philanthropic support for the college and our students,” Elrod said. “And that one of our successful alumni, Barry Blevins, is a market president of the bank just makes this gift that much more special. Our Wright School of Business and Dalton State thrive because of the broad community support we are privileged to enjoy.”

The Dalton State Foundation encourages private giving to all schools and areas of the college. Donors may contact the foundation at 706-272-4473 or make a gift online at daltonstate.edu/giving.
