Why did you choose Dalton State? I chose Dalton State because it was close to home and my older brother was already attending.
What do you plan to do after graduation? I plan to stay near my hometown to teach and show kids learning can be fun! However, I would also like to further my education and see where God leads me.
Who is/was your favorite professor and why? Kim Hays. I have never enjoyed school until her field techniques class. It has shown me more options in the field and we actually get to do the work instead of just reading about it.
Where is your favorite study spot? My favorite study spot is in my bed in pajamas with music playing.
Where is your favorite hangout? The outdoors. I love to be outside doing pretty much anything. I really enjoy hunting with my dad and friends and riding horses. I deer hunt, raccoon hunt, and have recently gotten into turkey hunting.
What is your best memory so far as part of the Roadrunner Nation? Electrofishing of course.
What is the last book you read? KJV Bible
Favorite comfort food? Barbecue bologna, my grandmother made it every fourth of July with her homemade sauce. My mom is the only one who can get close to Grandmomma’s sauce.
If you had a theme song, what would it be? “Where I Belong” by Building 429, it’s so easy to get caught up in day to day life and to let the struggles of the world surround you. However, we have God’s promise that there are better days coming and we are able to lean on him to forget the whirlwind of the world.
What do you feel most proud of? Being involved in church and doing work for my savior. I love to help others and there is no better way to help someone than to show them to the Lord.
If you won the lottery, what would you do? Go to the African Safari, Australia, and have lots and lots of pets.
What is a skill you’d like to learn and why? I would LOVE to learn how to play a guitar, though I have no musical talent whatsoever. I love music and would really enjoy playing.
What cheers you up? Anytime I am down I want to hang out with family and friends, be with my church family, and of course be around my boyfriend. I have to say they are all pretty awesome and always know how to pick me up.
What is your favorite book? The Bible, it’s a love story, rule book, a history book, and so much more all in one.
Where is your favorite place to eat? Wing Stop
What did you want to be when you were a kid? I have wanted to be a veterinarian since I was 5 years old. Then, I got to college…
What does it mean to you to be part of the Roadrunner Nation? At first it was just an education. I didn’t care where I went to school as long as I was close to home and didn’t have to pay a huge amount of money. However, after coming to Dalton State, I realized it was so much more than an education. Dalton isn’t just another college where we come in, have lectures, take tests, and leave. It is a place where professors and advisors care and want to help. It is a place to get out of your comfort zone, meet new people, and have new experiences. Though I have just started my upper level courses, I have met several new friends and made many memories that will last a lifetime.
