Why did you choose Dalton State? I chose Dalton State because it wasn’t too far from my hometown, the affordability, and the great tight community.

What activities are you involved in on campus? I am an orientation leader and always volunteer when there is an opening for me to do so.

What are some of your biggest achievements or accomplishments at Dalton State? Welcoming the new incoming freshman and help them understand that Dalton State is a wonderful school. It’s more than just working hard to graduate but becoming a person. If you have not found out who you really are, you will here at Dalton.

What are some of your favorite activities in and around Dalton? My favorite activity on campus is when the resident assistants have their monthly events. It’s a great way to meet new people and as far as around Dalton state, I love taking road trips to Chattanooga with my friends.

Where is your favorite hangout? IHOP with my friends at late hours.

What is your best memory so far as part of the Roadrunner Nation? When the basketball team won the championships and the community came together to welcome them back and congratulate them. It was a wonderful sight to see.

What is the last book you read? “A Girl Like Me”

Favorite comfort food? Talenti’s roman raspberry ice-cream

If you had a theme song, what would it be? “Flawless” (according to everybody else)

What is your guilty pleasure? Using all the hot water before people get in the shower.

If you won the lottery, what would you do? Take care of my family, open a homeless shelter, and travel with my soon to be husband, Noah

What is a skill you’d like to learn and why? Piano because I think being able to play an instrument is a good skill to have

What is your favorite book? “Of Mice and Men”

Who is your hero? God. He is the only one that can give me the correct guidance. When my dad was very ill and the doctors said he wouldn’t make it, I turned to God and now my dad is better than ever.

What is your favorite childhood memory? Having my 12th birthday party and the whole community came. It was awesome.

Where is your favorite place to eat? Red Lobster and Maggiano’s

What did you want to be when you were a kid? Homicide detective (still my dream)

What does it mean to you to be part of the Roadrunner Nation? I am much honored to be at this school. I know that if I attended a bigger school or university, I wouldn’t receive the same opportunities I receive here at Dalton. There is just so much this school offers and let me not forget the community. It’s amazing. Even though we are a small school, our community is very big, loud, and supportive which is a big deal to me. I came to Dalton by myself not knowing anyone and I never felt alone or depressed. Another great aspect of Dalton is the education. Just because we are a small school does not mean we get less of an education. Our teachers care about us and our futures and our classes are smaller (which is a better learning technique for myself and others). What also makes our learning environment better is that our teachers know us by name, so we feel as if we are important and we are somebody. I just love Dalton. It’s a wonderful school. At first I thought about switching to a university, but I found my permanent school.
